THE HALFWAY RECAP

Day 50. Halfway through 100 days of building free Claude skills in public. Different from a regular skill drop — today is what I've learned, what's worked, what hasn't, and what's coming.

WHAT I PROMISED ON DAY 1

100 days. 100 free Claude skills. For stretched-thin people — moms, solopreneurs, anyone burning out — to use AI to make money, save hours, and reclaim some life.

50 down. Honest assessment time.

WHAT'S ACTUALLY WORKED

The money skills are doing the heaviest lifting. Days 1, 2, 3, 7, 39 — the ones with a price tag attached and a real outreach script — those are the most-installed, most-DM'd, most-replicated. People want concrete dollar outcomes. They don't want "AI will help you grow." They want "$75, 12 minutes, here's how to find clients."

The productivity skills compound. Day 4's Sunday-Night Setup, Day 32's Sunday Reset, Day 34's Morning Map — alone they're useful. Stacked, they're a nervous system. People who installed all three say their week feels different. That's the unlock.

The "permission" skills surprised me. Days 9, 10, 50 — the ones meant to address hesitation, not solve a task — those got the most DMs. Apparently the hardest barrier isn't ability. It's permission.

WHAT HASN'T WORKED

The Claude-feature deep-dives didn't land. Days 51–70 are coming up — MCP, sub-agents, connectors, scheduled tasks. I'm rethinking how I frame those. The audience doesn't care about features. They care about outcomes. I'll reframe each as "what does this let you actually do?"

The 7-file deliverable bundle was over-engineered for some skills. Days 1 and 2 got the full treatment — article, skill, README, outreach, post-ready, video script, HTML preview. Days 3+ got article + skill only. The lighter version works fine. I should have started lighter.

Setting up the visual was a 3-day rabbit hole. Color, font, layout, callout boxes. Worth it long-term, but I lost almost a week of building time. Lesson: ship rough, polish in version 2.

THE 5 SKILLS PEOPLE INSTALL THE MOST (DAYS 1–50)

Based on DMs and reported installs:

  1. Day 5 — The 3-Word Email Reply (cuts inbox time without setup)
  2. Day 1 — The $75 Resume Rescue (real money potential, immediate)
  3. Day 4 — The Sunday-Night Setup (the parent killer use case)
  4. Day 9 — The 5-Excuses Killer (people send it to friends — it's a referral engine)
  5. Day 41 — The Birthday Auto-Pilot (universally relatable pain)

If you've installed only 1: install Day 5. If you've installed 5: stack the next 5 from this list.

WHAT'S COMING IN DAYS 51–100

Days 51–70: Claude power tools — but reframed. The connectors that save real hours. The memory feature that turns Claude into your second brain. The skill that builds skills. Reframed for outcomes, not features.

Days 71–85: Documentation + skills development. SOPs for solopreneurs scaling. Learning paths for career pivots. Knowledge bases for anyone systematizing their work.

Days 86–95: Health, family, freedom. The skills I was almost too cautious to ship. Workout adapters. Recipe adapters. Pediatrician prep. Date-night plans. Less monetization, more life.

Days 96–100: Wrap. Best-of compilation. Open-source the full collection on GitHub. The roadmap for what you should build after Day 100.

THE QUESTION I WANT ANSWERED IN THE NEXT 50

Does this scale beyond me?

Right now I'm building each skill personally — researching, drafting, testing on real friends, posting. The question is whether the format itself is replicable. Whether someone reading this could take Day 51 onwards and build their own version for their own niche (corporate burnout-recovery? small-business owners? teachers?).

If yes, the next thing I build after Day 100 is a "build your own 100-day skill series" framework. If no, I learn something about why.

ONE THING IF YOU'VE BEEN HERE FROM DAY 1

Thank you. The reason I haven't quit is because of the DMs. Specifically the ones that say "I built [skill] and used it on [thing] and saved [time/money]." Those are the proof. Send more.

ONE THING IF YOU JUST FOUND THIS ON DAY 50

Welcome. Don't try to install all 50 at once. Start with one — Day 5 or Day 7 (the First-Skill Picker, which tells you which skill to install first based on you).

Day 51 lands tomorrow.

SAFETY CHECK

Same as Day 1.

THE FULL SKILL FILE

This skill lets you do your own halfway recap on any 100-day-of-X project. Built-in template + honest reflection prompts.

---
name: halfway-recap
description: Generates a milestone reflection for any "100 days of X" project at the halfway point. Inputs the user's original promise, what they've shipped, what's worked, what hasn't. Outputs a structured public-ready recap with honest wins, honest misses, top 5 hits, and what's coming.
when_to_use: User is at the midpoint of a "100 days of X" or similar long-form project and wants help writing the halfway-mark reflection post.

# The Halfway Recap

You write halfway-point reflections for long-form public projects. Honest. Specific. Not promotional.

## Inputs
1. The original Day 1 promise (in 1–2 sentences)
2. What's been shipped so far (rough list or count)
3. What's gotten the most engagement / installs / responses
4. What hasn't worked
5. What's coming in the second half

## Output: structured recap

Sections in this order:
1. **What I promised on Day 1** — restate the promise
2. **What's actually worked** — 2–3 honest patterns
3. **What hasn't worked** — 2–3 specific misses
4. **The 5 most-engaged with so far** — ranked
5. **What's coming in the next half** — phase-by-phase preview
6. **The question I want answered** — 1 honest thing you don't know yet
7. **One thing for early followers + one for new arrivals**

## Tone rules
- Honest, not promotional
- Specific, not vague ("hasn't worked" must be named)
- Vulnerable about misses without self-flagellation
- Forward-looking, but not over-promising

## Delivery
End with: *"Recap done. Post it as-is or edit. The honest version performs better than the polished version, every time."*
