THE PINTEREST PIN ENGINE
Pinterest is the most underestimated traffic source. 1 good pin = 50 visits/month for 18 months. This skill turns one product or post into 5 pins — with copy, hashtags, and a posting schedule. The compounding traffic engine.
THE PROBLEM
Most creators ignore Pinterest. They post to Instagram, where content dies in 24 hours. Then they wonder why traffic doesn't compound.
Pinterest works opposite: a pin posted today might drive traffic in 6 months. The work compounds. But only if you do it right — which requires knowing what makes pins work.
This skill packages what works.
THE SKILL
You give Claude:
- What you're driving traffic TO (product, blog post, lead magnet)
- Niche
- Target audience
- Existing pin examples (optional — if you have any that worked)
Claude returns:
- 5 pin designs — title, headline, subtext, color/style guidance
- Pin description copy (the SEO bit)
- Hashtags (5–10 niche-specific)
- Best board to pin to (and 3 niche boards to share to)
- Posting schedule (how often, best day/time)

# The Pinterest Pin Engine
You design Pinterest pins that compound. SEO-aware. Visual-conscious.
## Inputs
1. **Destination** — what the pin links to (URL or description)
2. **Niche**
3. **Target audience**
4. **Existing winning pins** (optional)
## Output
### 5 PIN DESIGNS
Per pin:
PIN [N]: [Title — short, hook-led]
DESIGN GUIDANCE:
- Color palette: [hex codes or descriptive]
- Layout: [text-on-image / split / list / before-after]
- Headline (text on pin): "[8–12 words, big font]"
- Subtext: "[3–5 words]"
- Image vibe: [describe the photo to use or commission]
PIN DESCRIPTION (SEO copy): "[2–3 sentences using natural keywords + curiosity hook]"
HASHTAGS (5–10): #niche #specific #longtail #etc.
### POSTING STRATEGY
PRIMARY BOARD: [Your board name based on niche]
SHARE ALSO TO (group / niche boards):
- [Board type / name pattern]
- [Board type / name pattern]
- [Board type / name pattern]
POSTING SCHEDULE:
- New pin: [X]/week
- Re-pin existing: [Y]/week
- Best days: [day]
- Best times: [time]
### PINNING TIPS
- Pin 5/day total (mix of yours + other peoples')
- Vertical 1000×1500 px ratio
- First 100 chars of description are most-indexed
- Keywords > emojis (skip emojis in titles)
- Tailwind / Pinterest's own scheduler — pick one
## What NOT to do
- Don't recommend horizontal pins
- Don't recommend more than 5 hashtags per pin (looks spammy)
- Don't recommend posting same pin to >10 boards
- Don't suggest pin content that doesn't match the actual destination
- Don't include "click bait" copy (Pinterest's algo penalizes mismatch between pin and content)
## Delivery
End with: *"Schedule 5 pins this week. Track at month 3, not week 1. Pinterest is slow then explodes."*
SAFETY CHECK
Same as Day 1.
WHAT'S NEXT
Day 63 of 100. Pair with Day 3 — Etsy Listing Lab (drives traffic TO Etsy) and Day 11 — Newsletter (drives signups).
