YOUR FIRST 5 PROMPTS

5 prompts that show you what Claude can actually do. Copy them. Paste them. See what comes back. Better than 90% of prompts you'll write in your first month.

THE PROBLEM

Day 5 and you've technically used Claude — typed a question, gotten an answer. But you don't know what it can REALLY do. The hype says "everything" — that's not useful. These 5 prompts are useful.

Each one shows a specific superpower. Run them in order. By the end, you'll know what the tool is for.

PROMPT 1: THE EMAIL REWRITE

What it shows: Tone-matching + audience awareness.

Here's an email I drafted. Rewrite it 3 ways:
1. More direct (cut anything that's hedging)
2. More warm (acknowledge the relationship)
3. More casual (like a text to a peer)

Original email:
[paste your email]

You'll see Claude isn't a single voice — it's whichever voice you ask for.

PROMPT 2: THE READING SHORTCUT

What it shows: Long-document comprehension.

Paste any article, transcript, PDF text, or document (up to 100,000+ words). Then:

I just pasted [a meeting transcript / a long article / a contract / etc.]. Tell me:
1. The 3 things that actually matter
2. Anything I should question or push back on
3. The one specific thing I should do this week

You'll see Claude isn't just summarizing — it's thinking.

PROMPT 3: THE BRAINSTORM PARTNER

What it shows: Thinking partner mode.

I'm trying to decide [the actual decision you're stuck on]. Here's the context: [2-3 sentences].

Ask me 3 questions that would help me think this through. Don't give me the answer yet.

You'll see Claude can be Socratic, not just answer-giving. Most people never use it this way.

PROMPT 4: THE DECISION FILTER

What it shows: Structured analysis.

Score these options against my priorities. My top 3 priorities are:
1. [Priority]
2. [Priority]
3. [Priority]

Options:
A. [Option A]
B. [Option B]
C. Status quo (do nothing)

Output: a 1-10 score for each option against each priority. Total at the bottom. Recommendation in 1 sentence.

You'll see Claude can be analytical without being cold.

PROMPT 5: THE TIME-SAVER TEST

What it shows: The thing you'll use Claude for forever.

What's the most boring 30-minute task in my [job / week / business]? Help me figure out which one Claude could cut to 5 minutes.

Here's a typical week of mine: [paste a rough description of what your week looks like]

You'll get a list. Pick one. The rest of the 100 days helps you cut it.

NEXT STEP

Run all 5 today. Each takes 2-3 minutes. Total: 15 minutes.

You'll learn more about Claude in those 15 minutes than from any course.

WHAT'S NEXT

Day 5 of 100. Tomorrow: Day 6 — Claude vs ChatGPT vs Gemini.

SAFETY CHECK

Same as Day 1.
